My story with EntitySpaces
Back in 2012, I purchased a license for EntitySpaces to build a wine management system for a vineyard. The database had over 100 tables, connecting the head office in Santiago with a grape-receiving winery, consolidating data through object collection serialization. It was a genuinely complex system — and EntitySpaces was the backbone of the entire data layer. Through years of production use, it never once caused a performance issue or a concurrency error. It just worked.
At the end of 2019, Mike Griffin — the creator of EntitySpaces — made the source code freely available, and the ORM was officially discontinued. But I still trusted its design. So I took the codebase, fixed bugs, updated the data providers (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB, SQLite, and Oracle, with Firebird support currently in development), and brought it up to speed with .NET Framework 4.8.1 and modern .NET (8, 9, and 10).
Today, I'm the active maintainer of this modernized fork. Mike himself acknowledged the work by referencing my repository. The NuGet packages have nearly 4,000 combined downloads, and a full test suite runs against the Northwind database across every supported engine — you can see it all on GitHub.
My commitment is simple: EntitySpaces stays completely free and open-source.
If one of these providers has saved you time on a project, your support helps me keep dedicating real hours to bug fixes, documentation, and keeping up with new .NET releases.
Payments are processed via Netstep Informática (EIRL), the consultancy I use for my development work in Chile.
